University of Wuppertal
The University of Wuppertal is a modern, independent university that stands in the Humboldtian educational tradition. Six profile lines, four profile cores and six profile areas are the basis for an interdisciplinary, future-oriented research and teaching profile. In the sense of the self-image and in order to promote the scientific profile, the emphasis on certain principles and values is of particular importance.
Suspension Railroad
The suspension railroad - Wuppertal's landmark - runs through the city on a 13 km route. For the most part, this runs over the Wupper River; only four of the 16 stops are on the "overland" route. Over 80,000 people use the suspension railroad every day.

The visitor is completely enveloped by show and theme. State-of-the-art multimedia media technology makes him part of his own unique experience here. The fascinating worlds of light, sound and size touch the guests emotionally. The Visiodrom brings content beyond the mind directly into the hearts of the visitors. The exhibition areas complement the experience with background knowledge and further experiences.
Monument to Friedrich Engels
The Engels Monument is a larger-than-life bronze statue of the German philosopher, social theorist, historian, journalist, communist revolutionary, and textile entrepreneur Friedrich Engels (1820-1895). It is located in the Engels Garden in the Barmen district of Wuppertal between the Engels House, where Engels spent his childhood, and the former site of his birthplace, which was destroyed in the war.
Müngsten Bridge
Built between 1894 and 1897, it was christened "Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge" in honor of the head of state. The legend of the Golden Rivet still fascinates today. At 107 meters high, Germany's highest railroad bridge rests imposingly in the narrow valley of the Wupper River and connects Remscheid and Solingen. Under the bridge is a series of kiosks and souvenir stores.
Hardt & Elisenturm
This oldest park in the city of Wuppertal presents itself magnificently: up to ninety meters above the level of the Wupper, yet only a twenty-minute walk from the center of Elberfeld. With a dense network of paths and extensive meadows, flowerbeds, monuments and a variety of facilities, the Hardt attracts its visitors to the green heights. Part of the Hardt and its crowning glory: the Botanical Garden.
